Professional
Development

There are a range of professional development opportunities available to nursing and midwifery professionals however, a number of systemic and structural barriers restrict full access to education and training opportunities to all practitioners.

Three target areas have been identified:

  1. Improve access to Workplace Assessor Training for Māori nurses,
  2. Enhance the undergraduate experience for Māori midwifery students, and
  3. Development a tool for employers and practitioners to encourage access to professional development opportunities for Māori nurses and midwives.
