Kerri started her career as an enrolled nurse and went on to undertake registered nursing education, completing her professional development with a diploma in midwifery. Her experience in maternity has been across all areas, including team leadership in antenatal outpatient clinics.

She is currently the Kaiwhakahaere o Te Rūnanga for the New Zealand Nurses Organisation and she is Clinical Nurse Manager at the Hawkes Bay DHB. She has a special interest in governance, is a director within a PHO and a trustee for a youth health service in Hastings.  She also works occasionally as an auditor/surveyor for a designated accreditation authority.
